Music: Raise ‘Em Up

Posted on Posted in Music, My Perspective, Personal

There’s something about a new song by a favorite artist or band that moves me. I love music. It’s always in my head. It’s always in Frank’s head too – and he can actually PLAY music. Sydney can too. She’s got the beat.

A few new songs have come out lately that have lyrics that make my heart happy. One is a collaboration of two artists I’ve liked for a long time. Ever have a song that just speaks right to your soul? For me, this is it. Keith Urban and Eric Church. Here’s the video on YouTube. I turn this song up to full volume….

“Lift your tear filled eyes up to the sky” This is one I’ve done a lot lately. Life is so good and I thank God and my lucky stars for every piece of it.

“You got a voice, you got a choice, go make some noise. Don’t ever let ’em tell you who you are.” My parents taught me early. And I hope I’m making the right kind of noise.

And then this about raising our babies…. oh my Mama heart.

“Raise ’em up trophy high

Raise them up to the sky

Raise em up show everybody that newborn smile

Raise em up tall and strong

Raise ’em up right from wrong

Raise ’em up so damn high they can hear God singing along.”

This part gets me every time. I hope we’re doing all these things for Sydney.

I think we’re doing pretty good so far.
